The meal is fish

A Danish preacher
Place were in Israel
Oh my I was as close to mad I can ever come
His words were something like
Only reason that the number of fish is written in Bible is because the writer is a fisher himself
Is not important

I rushed to the place I was to sleep. I am a simple girl, I know nothing much just this I know – nothing happens by coincidence, nothing is written in the holy word

Joh 21:11 Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken.

I did not know the understanding in this
But I indented to find out

Gematria of 153 Fishes
Let us look at the Gematria of 153 in the Holy Scriptures.

In John's Gospel in the New Testament, we are told that after the resurrection, Simon Peter, James and John went fishing. Yeshua met them and told them to cast their net on the right side of the ship. They caught an unexpected multitude of fish, and in John 21:11 we are told that they caught 153 fishes.

Is there any significance behind the number 153? Why mention 153 fish specifically? Does the Gematria of 153 mean anything?

153 is indeed a very significant number if we look at Hebrew Gematria. "It just so happens" that the Gematria for the phrase "the sons of God (Elohim)" in Hebrew adds up to 153.

Let's take a closer look at this amazing example of Gematria. The phrase "the sons of God" in Hebrew is as follows:

The Hebrew phrase is bne haElohim. Remember that in the construct state in Hebrew (i.e. the sons of God), the prefix ha (meaning the) goes with the second noun, not the first.

Now, let's calculate the Gematria of this phrase in Hebrew. There are two words, bne (the sons of) and Elohim (God).

Bne has three Hebrew letters – Bet, Nun and Yod. Bet has a Gematria of 2, Nun has a Gematria of 50, and Yod has a Gematria of 10, giving a total Gematria of 62.

HaElohim has six Hebrew letters. Heh has a Gematria of 5, Alef has a Gematria of 1, Lamed has a Gematria of 30, Heh has a Gematria of 5, Yod has a Gematria of 10, and Mem has a Gematria of 40. Thus, the total Gematria is 91.

If we add 62 and 91, the Gematria for the whole phrase (the sons of God) is 153! Thus, the Gematria of the sons of God (Elohim) in Hebrew adds up to 153. Amazing, but true!

We must always check that Gematria is relevant to the context of a passage in Scripture. In this case, 153 is a symbol (in Gematria) for the sons of God. This is highly relevant to the passage. Symbolically, Peter, James and John were going to become leaders of the early Christian movement. They were going to become fishers of men, just as Yeshua told them they would at the start of his ministry in Matthew 4:19 and Mark 1:17. The parable about becoming fishers of men that Jesus told them at the start of his ministry is fulfilled at the end, after the resurrection, when they catch 153 fishes, symbolically catching the sons of God in the net. The net, of course, is a parable of the coming Judgement. (Remember Yeshua's parable in Matthew 13:47-50).

This example illustrates how Hebrew Gematria can help to shed some fascinating new light on numbers in Scripture. You now know the meaning of the 153 fishes!
